Voice assistant
A voice assistant for your business
A voice assistant answers the phone, understands what the caller wants, answers questions and schedules appointments. Day and night, without a queue. This is what such an assistant does, what it cannot do, what you arrange beforehand and which rules apply since 2026.
What a voice assistant does
- Answer every call, also in the evening and at weekends.
- Answer frequently asked questions in plain language and in your tone.
- Schedule, move and confirm appointments in your calendar.
- Transfer to the right colleague, with the context.
- Record a note of every call, with what was agreed.
What it cannot do
A voice assistant is good at what comes back often and bad at what has never happened before. A complaint that needs judgement, a negotiation, a call that needs comfort: those belong to a person. A good assistant recognises those moments and transfers. Promising it can do everything is the mistake that costs customers.
What you arrange beforehand
- Which questions it answers itself and which it passes on. Start small.
- What it may do in your calendar and your customer system, and what not.
- Who it transfers to, and what happens if that person does not answer.
- How it introduces itself. The caller must know they are talking to AI.
- Where the calls are processed. For customer data that should be EU servers.
The rules since 2026
Since 2 August 2026, Article 50 of the European AI Act applies: whoever lets an AI system talk to people ensures those people know they are dealing with AI, unless that is already obvious. If you record calls, you say so at the start of the call and say what for. A line on your website is not enough for that. More on this in the article about the rules.
How we do it
Our phone AI employee introduces itself as AI, answers, handles and schedules, and transfers as soon as the call falls outside its task. Everything runs on EU servers. You hear it yourself first before we switch anything on.
Frequently asked questions
Does it understand Dutch with an accent?
In most cases, yes. Speech recognition for Dutch has improved strongly in recent years. If the assistant is unsure, it asks again or transfers. That is better than guessing.
What happens when it does not know?
Then it says so and transfers or takes a callback request. It does not invent an answer.
Can it also make outbound calls?
Yes, for reminders, confirmations and follow-ups. Separate rules apply to sales calls to consumers, so we only do that after consultation.
